VALLEY OF WINDMILLS
From the centre of Dizzasco a mule track heads down to the Valle dei Mulini, so-called because there used to be a lot of water-powered factories here:
mills for grinding, percussion and hydraulic hammers. Dating back to 1600 - 1700, they were used to grind wheat and chestnuts and to make agricultural tools. The Traversa mill was the last to stop grinding in 1975: you can still admire the wheel and the chimney. Nearby a beautiful medieval hump-back bridge crosses the Torrente Telo, then the mule track reaches the Loc. Storta and the Municipality of Cerano.
