Consecrated in 1610 the church stands near the cemetery and has undergone frequent alterations that led to its current configuration. The building is divided into three naves and culminates in the bell tower set back from the edge of the nave to the right that has a rendered finish and upper part in regular stone ashlars. Inside, the left nave hosts a baptismal font, the altar of Saint Anthony and the scagliolaplaster pulpit by Paolo Caprani while in the nave to the right the altarcontains the Blessed Virgin of the Purificationthe 16th century painted wooden statue that is carried in procession through the streets of the small town on the first Sunday in February. In the presbytery there is the 16th century marble tabernacle and an altar piece by Carlo InnocenzoCarloni that depicts the “Presentation of the Child in the Temple and the Purification of the Virgin” while the vault has the “triumph of Saint Michael” painted by Carlo Scotti. Finally, the small olive wood statues depicting Saint James, Saint Peter, Our Lady of the Rosary, Saint Andrew the Evangelist and Saint John the Baptist by Ercole Ferrata can also be seen in the building.
