Starting in 2011 the dynamic quality of the Invasion of the Donkeys has brought a growth in cultural activities and strengthened the programmed planning of permanent site works. Each year various artists are selected for the purpose of creating urban installations that are peculiar to the territory and in line with the general principles of cultural macro planning.
In five years, the town has been transformed into an open air museum in which the works are active nuclei that are experienced daily by the whole community.
Two intrinsic qualities exist in the project and play through subtle dynamic differences. One of these realities is correlated to the territory. These are the popular stories, the traditions, the people, the tales and the intangible magic that surrounds the town. The other is the cultural value, the promotion of young artists, the creation of ideas and the search for new poetic languages.
